Here I will teach you the basic step that will help you to increase your site traffic and rank in the search engine before we start our search engine optimization please make sure that your site is indexed in Google or not. In order to check that type "site:your website name" in the Google and click search.
If your site is indexed in Google your indexed pages are shown below with its total search result.
Since Google is not using meta keyword to rank your page therefore I am not teaching you about the keywords but I will teach about others aspects of SEO that will help your site to rank in top position.

1. Page Content
Site optimization is process of providing the content to index in search engine. From SEO prospective contents really refers to text so there are some page content that will not much help you to optimize your site such as images flash animations and PDF files. These content will not hurt your site,adding animation and images in well optimized sites will not harm the site ranking. Do not use the images instead of text in your website, some people use images in their Header instead of using <H1> tag because it is easy to use images instead of using these tags but remember this will directly affect your optimization because search engine mainly looks at Header to index the page. Therefore never use images in title of website and other content even though if text is embedded in an images search engine will treat it as an image not as a text.
2. Friendly URL
One of the important component of webpage from an SEO prospective is an URL. Never use the dynamically generated URL in your site because URL are very important factor to drive your search engine ranking. Instead of using long URL keep it short and user friendly by creating URL which is similar to the title of your content.
3.Title tag
The title tag is a single most important component from SEO prospective. The title tag is intend to describe the content of the page and search engine find keywords in them so it is very important component to optimize the site. You can can create title tag as long as you want by adding keywords in them but don't create the tags more the 100 character. Many websites begin title tag with the company name
<title>Company Name- Our product is made from natural hearbs and best to your hair</title>
but its a bad idea because you want a really good key word in the beginning of your tag and the words at beginning or top of the component are likely to weighted more then weight at the end or bottom. While creating title of of your page all first letter of words should be capitalized and should be in this given format.
<title>XYZ Shampoo- Our product is made to make your hair silky and smooth</title>
